How do I measure my wrist for a bracelet?
Use a flexible measuring tape (or a strip of paper/string) to wrap around your wrist, just above the wrist bone, and mark where it overlaps. If using a string or paper, lay it flat against a ruler to get the measurement. This gives your wrist circumference. For a comfortable fit, it’s recommended to add a little extra (about 0.5–1 cm) to your wrist measurement when choosing a bracelet size.
Should a bracelet be tight or loose?
A bracelet should fit comfortably, not too tight and not too loose. Ideally, aim for a slight gap (around 0.5 cm of space) between the bracelet and your wrist. This lets the bracelet move slightly but not slide off your hand. If it’s too snug, it can feel uncomfortable or leave marks, so a slightly looser fit is best.

How do adjustable bracelets work?
Most adjustable bracelets use a sliding mechanism to fit different wrist sizes. Many have sliding knots or a sliding bead you pull closer to tighten or pull apart to loosen. How do I shorten a ball chain bracelet to fit my wrist?
To shorten a ball chain bracelet, first measure your wrist and decide on the length you want (with a little allowance for comfort). Then cut the chain between two beads at that point with a pair of sharp scissors. Remove the clasp connector before cutting, then reattach it to the newly cut end. Be careful, once you cut the chain shorter, you can’t make it longer again.
